Finding a job in countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman etc… are quite tiresome practice due to the increase of skilled and unskilled talents in the region. Visa regulations, national quota, employer preferences, qualification benchmarks etc…. make the process all the more difficult.

But if you have a real strategy, required skills and ambition to land a well paying job, it is worth trying for a career in Gulf. You should know the gulf job market thoroughly before landing in one of your favorite gulf countries for a job search. Each region has its own required skill sets and job openings. Many things should be noted as a preparation to the job hunt. Let us see few of such important job search aspects that may be great help to you to find your dream job.

  1. CV is the king

Your CV should be up o date and up to mark. You should not miss any relevant information on your CV. Add all that may impress your possible employer, such as work experience, education, extracurricular achievements, hobbies, special skills etc.  Remove unnecessary details from your CV. Be clear about your experience and your aim. Do not add anything that may distract the content and info. Use moderate graphics in CV. Over beautifying the resume may do much harm than any good.

  1. Learn to network

Networking is the key to successful job hunt. . Sending your CV by email and asking to be contacted is not the most effective way to get a job. Research the entire target job market. Email your CV and seek for frequent updates. Connect companies and recruiters via social media and Linkedin. Present yourself attractively on the webspace. You must find a way to contact the hiring decision makers and provide a brief summary of your experience through a phone call, a video, or in writing by email. Receive help from friends and benefactors, colleagues and recruitment agencies.

  1. Be present

Your presence is the most important factor in job search in Gulf. Most countries prefer candidates who are readily available for face-to-face rounds. Once the preparations and research are over, try to be present at the target country. Once you are in the country, update your online profile with latest contact info. Make use of your referrals. Visit companies and drop your resume. Use newspapers to know the latest vacancies.
